For the better part of a century, the Grand Bank Gee Bees and the Fortune Apollos have been staples of the Newfoundland soccer community. But over the past two decades, they have fallen by the wayside. Due to declining numbers and outmigration, it has only been through the hard work and dedication of a select few individuals that these programs have managed to keep their heads above water.
Now, we are at the dawn of the rebirth of soccer in Fortune and Grand Bank, and our way forward has never been more obvious: to move into the future, we must learn from the past.
For this very reason, we have decided to host the Grand Bank & Fortune Soccer Reunion, bringing together the Apollos and Gee Bees of the past, along with current members and potential future members.
We graciously encourage you to come out to our event on Wednesday, July 29th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the Grand Bank Soccer Field to reminisce about the past, celebrate the present, and discuss the future. Please spread the word to any former players, coaches, executive members, volunteers, or anyone else who has been involved in any way, shape, or form with either organization. Together, we can celebrate our history and help shape our path forward.
