It is with great pride, deep humility, and a genuine sense of excitement that I welcome all visitors and new citizens to the beautiful Town of Grand Bank, a place I have always called home and now have the honour and privilege of serving as Mayor.

Grand Bank is a living, breathing part of our history, tradition and resilience, from our rugged coastline, breathtaking harbour and our easy going way of life. There’s a quiet beauty here that never fails to inspire. The salt air, the sound of the sea, and the warmth of our people create a sense of place that stays with you.

As we reflect on the history, it’s important to remember that the most valuable resource Grand Bank has ever had - and ever will - is its people.

The true soul of this town isn’t found only in its harbour or hills, but in its citizens: those who volunteer on committees, who look after their neighbours, and who celebrate each other’s successes. It’s our people, past and present who have shaped the spirit of Grand Bank. It is our people’s resilience, kindness, and community pride that continue to define who we are.

Our seniors are the keepers of our stories and the foundation upon which this town is built. Your sacrifices, strength, and guidance have carried us through tough times and built the way for brighter days. We honor you by ensuring Grand Bank remains a place where all generations feel valued, supported, and safe.

Our youth and young families, you are our future. Your passion, ideas, and energy are vital to the ongoing renewal of our town. I believe strongly that we must create opportunities here at home - to live, to work, raise families, and to grow. That means investing in education, recreation, innovation, and infrastructure that supports your dreams.

 

Our business owners, fish harvesters, health care professionals, educators, labourers, and municipal staff - you keep this town moving ahead. Your daily efforts make Grand Bank not only operational but exceptional. We recognize and appreciate all you do for your community.

Our visitors - whether you’re drawn here by the charm of our seascapes, our unique culture, or just the chance to get away from the noise of the world - we welcome you. Grand Bank has a magic all its own, and we hope you feel it from the moment you arrive.

Looking ahead my vision for Grand Bank is rooted in both tradition and progress. I believe we can honour the past while embracing new ideas and opportunities. From preserving our historic buildings to attracting new investment, by working together we can accomplish our goals.

This council and I are committed to listening, to being present, and to leading with transparency, respect, and accountability. We will seek out partnerships and support projects that move our town forward, always guided by the values that make Grand Bank unique.

We are a town with heart, with history, and with hope. And most of all, we are a town of people who care about each other, about our home, and about our future.
